Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has over the last 24 hours aimed a fresh dig at Los Blancos’ arch rivals, Barcelona.
This comes owing to developments in the latter’s La Liga meeting with Real Betis. Hansi Flick’s troops are fresh off maintaining their perfect start to the new campaign on Saturday, courtesy of a 5-2 triumph at La Cartuja.
Barca’s eventual victory, though, was not without its controversies. Across the 90 minutes, Betis made clear that they felt as though they had been hard done by on the part of the team of officials, owing to a number of high-profile decisions.
One such call saw a stunning Giovani Lo Celso equaliser ruled out on the stroke of half-time.
Speaking during an ensuing appearance in front of the media, the aforementioned José Mourinho was therefore asked for his take on the drama in Seville.
And Real Madrid’s headmaster made use of the opportunity to aim an underhanded jibe at Barcelona, explaining:
“I watched Bayern vs Leipzig… I heard what happened later, but obviously, I was not surprised at all. Another day at the office!”
