Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott admitted he made a costly mistake during Sunday night’s 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The veteran NFL quarterback acknowledged that Packers safety Evan Williams read his eyes before intercepting one of his passes.

Prescott refused to blame the pressure he faced on the play, accepting responsibility for failing to disguise his intentions.

“I’m not a guy of excuses. I’d got my wind back, I think. Well, I know I did before the ball was snapped,” Prescott told reporters.

“Ultimately, Williams did a good job showing the blitz. He got out of there, read my eyes the whole way,” he added. “To me, I’ve got to at some point center him back up.”

The interceptions proved especially damaging because Dallas had reached Green Bay territory on consecutive possessions. Instead of generating points, Prescott handed the Packers opportunities to maintain control.

Prescott also insisted he would not use the hit he took as an excuse. “And yeah, I’m not gonna make excuses for being hit,” he said.

Green Bay capitalized on Dallas’ mistakes and built a 17-0 halftime lead. Jordan Love threw a touchdown pass and scored on a one-yard keeper as the Packers secured their third consecutive victory.

The Cowboys finally reached the end zone late in the fourth quarter. Prescott connected with Ryan Flournoy for a six-yard touchdown, but Dallas failed to complete the two-point conversion.

The defeat dropped Dallas to 2-4, increasing pressure on head coach Brian Schottenheimer to find offensive solutions. The Cowboys have struggled to turn their talent into consistent production during consecutive losses.

Prescott’s accountability is a positive sign, but Dallas needs more than postgame admissions. Better decision-making, improved protection, and more balanced play-calling must follow.

Prescott himself said after the game that the Cowboys “need some good momentum. And the only way to do it is to get a win.”

The Cowboys face the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 26. Prescott and the offense will need a sharper performance to prevent their early-season struggles from deepening.
