Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni broke his silence on quarterback Jalen Hurts' terrifying injury.
Hurts was ruled out for the remainder of the 2026 NFL season after sustaining a blood clot in his left calf, a scary diagnosis that prompted questions surrounding the Eagles' medical staff, who allowed the quarterback to play in Philadelphia's Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
On Monday afternoon, Sirianni spoke for the first time since Hurts was officially ruled out for the season.
"The health of our players is always at the forefront of our minds. We will leave that to the medical experts, but we always care deeply about our players," he said.
"When you're completely focused on together and connection, you're always thinking about the well-being of your guys and that's where we were in that situation.
"I'm not a medical expert. I lean on our guys in all those situations. I'm a football coach, I lean on our medical experts in every situation. I have full trust and full faith in them. It's not just me that has major care for our players, it's them as well.
"We are all there, and we are glad to be part of an organization that cares about our guys the way our guys do."
