The Patriots continue to see their plans to use offseason receiver acquisitions **[A.J. Brown](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrowAJ00.htm?utm_medium=linker&utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&utm_campaign=2026-10-19_pfr)** and **[Romeo Doubs](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/D/DoubRo00.htm?utm_medium=linker&utm_source=www.profootballrumors.com&utm_campaign=2026-10-19_pfr)** together fizzle. Just as Brown returned from IR, Doubs is out of the equation.
Doubs is now on New England’s IR list, per the team. The free agent pickup suffered a shoulder injury against the Jets on Sunday. The Pats signed defensive back **Elliot Davison** from their practice squad to take Doubs’ roster spot.
_More to come._
