LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams have placed kicker Blake Grupe on injured reserve after he injured his right knee in the team's Week 6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Monday.
The Rams have not announced a corresponding move at kicker.
Grupe was playing in his first game with Los Angeles after he was signed off the New York Jets' practice squad last week. Grupe was signed to replace Harrison Mevis, who missed a 50-yard field goal attempt and then had a 48-yarder blocked in overtime of the Rams' Week 5 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
But after making a 44-yard field goal in the opening quarter Sunday, Grupe hurt his right knee on the ensuing kickoff while trying to make a tackle. After the game, Grupe was in the locker room with a big brace on his right leg and crutches at his locker.
The Rams play the Raiders in Las Vegas in Week 7.
