All eyes will be on the French capital when two-time reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain host powerhouse Barcelona in a blockbuster UEFA Champions League showdown.

This week is a clash of the heavyweights in Paris on Wednesday (AEDT) – French juggernauts PSG against LaLiga champions Barca in a reunion for Spanish boss Luis Enrique.

Luis Enrique previously won the Champions League with former club Barca. Now, he has guided PSG to consecutive European crowns as they eye a remarkable threepeat.

The matchday three fixture at the Parc des Princes – pitting two sides who have won their opening two UCL games – will see the visit of Europe’s most in-form team – Barca.

Barca – the LaLiga leaders – have not only won every game they have played this season (11) but have scored an incredible 48 goals already.

Behind the red-hot run is phenomenon Lamine Yamal, who has scored nine goals and provided 10 assists across all competitions.

“I think Lamine wants to be Lamine and he is doing very well,” Luis Enrique said amid comparisons with Lionel Messi. “He is improving in every aspect of his game, but if you compare him with the best player ever, there will only be one winner.

“Maybe we can speak in the future about that, but right now it is best not to compare him with Messi.”

Meanwhile, the French Interior minister confirmed the Champions League meeting will go ahead, despite a weekend of protests marred by violence and looting across France.
