What happened Monday at Halas Hall:
Jackson in jeopardy
The Bears didn’t practice Monday, but were required to release an estimated injury report and didn’t think right guard Jonah Jackson (hip) would’ve been available. Jackson went down in the second half of the win over the Falcons, and Luke Newman replaced him. Jackson hasn’t missed a start in two seasons with the Bears.
Monangai still sidelined
No. 2 running back Kyle Monangai, an integral part of the ground game alongside D’Andre Swift, looks unlikely to be back against the Patriots. Monangai has missed two games with a toe injury, and the Bears said he wouldn’t have practiced Monday. If he’s out, Roschon Johnson is likely to continue getting a decent share of carries.
Doubs out
The Patriots put wide receiver Romeo Doubs, formerly of the Packers, on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. He leads them with 261 yards and three touchdowns.
Bagent stays backup
Tyson Bagent’s spot as the backup quarterback was in question after he got benched against the Packers, but coach Ben Johnson kept him in the No. 2 spot Sunday and made third-stringer Case Keenum the inactive emergency quarterback.
Left tackle decision
The Bears eventually want Ozzy Trapilo to step back into his spot as the starting left tackle, and playing a few series Sunday in his season debut was a step toward that. Ben Johnson must weigh whether he’s ready for more or to stay predominantly with Theo Benedet.
