New England Patriots Place Starter on Injured Reserve After Week 6 Win vs. New York Jets 1
The New England Patriots are looking like a completely different team over the last few weeks as they are riding a three-game winning streak and are 4-2 this season. They have begun to look like a better offensive team lately, but one of their big offseason additions has been struggling to get going in his first year with the team and is now dealing with an injury that will sideline him.
Let’s take a closer look at who it is and what this means for the New England Patriots going forward.

The New England Patriots have officially placed wide receiver Romeo Doubs on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury. He suffered the injury early in the Week 6 victory against the New York Jets after securing a 42-yard touchdown catch on his only target of the game.
Romeo Doubs has not gotten off to an ideal start in his New England Patriots tenure as he would have wanted. In six games (two starts), he has recorded 14 receptions on 24 targets for 261 yards and three receiving touchdowns. Doubs signed a four-year, $68 million contract as a free agent this offseason. It is even more difficult when wide receiver A.J. Brown just returned from injured reserve himself in Week 6, so the opportunities have been there for Doubs.
With the New England Patriots having a bye in Week 11, Doubs will have an additional week before playing if he returns as soon as he is eligible. Below is the Patriots’ schedule before their bye week that Doubs will miss:
Week 7: at Chicago Bears
Week 8: at Miami Dolphins
Week 9: vs. Green Bay Packers
Week 10: vs. Detroit Lions
There is a lot of room for improvement, but this gives Doubs a chance for a mental reset after a slow start in his new home. It will be intriguing to see if he is able to return after the bye week and what he will look like once he is back on the field.
