Steelers Add WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling To Practice Squad

Marquez Valdes-Scantling is reuniting with Aaron Rodgers…again. The veteran wide receiver is joining the Steelers practice squad, per Jordan Schultz.

MVS joined the Cowboys this past offseason but didn’t make it to Week 1 with his new organization. He then signed with the Chargers practice squad and quickly earned a promotion to the active roster. He ultimately got into three games with the organization, hauling in two receptions for 22 yards. He was released by the Chargers earlier this week.

The veteran wideout ended his 2025 campaign with the Steelers, where he hauled in 10 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown in five games. He added another three receptions in a playoff loss. Valdes-Scantling spent the first four seasons of his career playing alongside Rodgers in Green Bay. The receiver had his most productive seasons with the Packers, including a 2020 season when he finished with 33 catches for 690 yards and six touchdowns.

The Steelers could use some WR depth, with Michael Pittman and Roman Wilson currently sitting on IR. At the moment, the team has four receivers on their active roster: DK Metcalf, rookie standout Germie Bernard, rookie fourth-round pick Kaden Wetjen, and veteran Ben Skowronek, who didn’t play yesterday while nursing a calf injury.
