Rice has continued to be an integral member of Mikel Arteta's Premier League title-defending Arsenal side, missing only their Carabao Cup third-round fixture so far this season, as they prepare for a blockbuster visit to Bayern Munich - live with TNT Sports and HBO Max on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed plenty of success in the UEFA Champions League, memorably scoring two spectacular free-kicks against Real Madrid in the 2024/25 quarter-finals.
Rice does not count himself as the best dead-ball specialist in the world, though.
Asked by former Real Madrid and Brazil icon Roberto Carlos who the most gifted free-kick taker is, Rice said: "I'm probably going to have to say, from what I've seen, [Dominik] Szoboszlai from Liverpool.
"The free-kicks he's scored are unbelievable, the way he strikes the ball is unbelievable, his consistency as well.
"But if I'm saying all-time, I'm going to have to say you [Roberto Carlos], because of that goal against France."
Szoboszlai scored a stunning free-kick against Arsenal at Anfield in the Premier League last season and has earned a reputation as one of the best set-piece takers.
But he has not yet quite reached the output of Roberto Carlos from dead-ball situations: the explosive left-back netted a total of 49 free-kicks for club and country during his career.
Two-time Wimbledon winner Murray might have retired from tennis, but he remains a committed sportsman.
The 39-year-old has now turned his attention to golf, and he asked Rice what the conditions would need to be for a competitive match between the two.
"I saw him yesterday," Rice said. "The rain was coming down, torrential, and he was there putting, grinding. That just shows his mentality.
"His handicap's gone from like 18 two years ago to one. People that know golf, he puts in serious effort."
Answering the voice note, Rice added: "You'd have to give me, on my current handicap, seven shots, which I think is perfect because I'm not playing as much as you, and it gives me a chance to have a competitive game with you. Let's sort that out soon."
Ex-Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure also sent in a question to Rice, asking what Arsenal boss Arteta does to motivate him before a match.
"I think the most important thing my manager tells me is to be myself," Rice said.

"I've proven to him and my team-mates what I can do in an Arsenal shirt, and every time I go out there he knows how I can play for this team.
"Depending on the opposition, I never have to change for anyone, I just have to be myself and go out there and play to the qualities that I have.
"When I hear that from him before the game, I automatically have confidence to go out and perform. I'm very lucky to have a manager that gives me that confidence."
