2026 Minnesota Golden Gophers in the NFL: Week 6

Another week, and even more injuries creeping up for the former Gophers in the league. Between multiple bye weeks and injuries nearly half of the Gophers on this list either saw very limited action or no action at all in Week 6. Hopefully players will begin to heel and the stats will pick up as we near the midpoint of the season. Below see how the former Gophers did in Week 6 and a preview ahead of Week 7.

Gibbons played 49 defensive snaps and three on special teams in the Cardinals upset win over the Rams. He recorded seven tackles, four of them solo.

Bateman played just 17 snaps in the first half before getting knocked out of the game with a shoulder injury in the Ravens loss to the Browns. Before he left he was targeted once but did not make a catch. From the sounds of it Bateman is day to day and is questionable to play in Week 7.

Mafe and the Bengals were on their bye last week.

Span-Ford had the biggest breakout of the week in the Cowboys loss in Green Bay. He played 36 offensive snaps—just six less than TE1 Jake Ferguson, and added 12 more on special teams. He was targeted a season high five times and made four catches for 35 yards.

St. Juste was inactive for the game against the Cowboys.

Ersery played all 63 offensive snaps and six more on special teams in the win over Jacksonville in London. The Texans OL was great as a whole not giving up a sack and only a pair of QB hurries in the game. .

Walley played 42 defensive snaps and nine on special teams in the loss to the Titans. He recorded four tackles, two of them solo. Walley may move out of the slot in Week 7 as Sauce Gardner is dealing with an injury, so he could play a large role in guarding the Vikings wide outs back in Minnesota this Sunday.

Murray returned to action and played 62 defensive snaps and eight on special teams. He made four tackles, two of them solo but was targeted three times in the passing game, allowing 2 receptions for just 7 yards. Unfortunately, both of those catches were touchdowns.

Faalele was active for the first time this season, and did not play on offense, but saw action on five special teams snaps.

Striggow played a season low eight defensive snaps and six on special teams in the loss. He did not record a stat.

Lindenberg played 19 special teams and recorded a pair of tackles, one of them solo.

The Vikings were on their bye.

Howden played one snap on defense and 26 special teams snaps in the win over the Giants. He did not record a stat.

Johnson was released from the Jets Practice Squad prior to Week 6 and is a free agent once again.

JMS has officially lost his starting spot in New York and did not see any action in the loss to the Saints.

Nubin was inactive dealing with the neck injury he suffered in Week 5.

Smith was inactive for the game against Tampa Bay.

Neither player was called up in Week 6.

Eastern remained on the practice squad and did not play.

Kallerup was active and played ten snaps on offense and six on special teams in the OT loss to Denver. He may see more playing time in the future as fellow Seahawk tight end Elijah Arroyo appears to be headed towards IR.

Kieft played 16 special teams snaps and picked up one solo tackle.

Winfield was inactive once again with a rib injury.
