LeBron James, 76ers face huge injury development against Knicks

Anfernee Simons (hamstring) and Adem Bona (foot) are back in action, while Dean Wade (ankle) is out for the 76ers' opening night game against the Knicks.

The Philadelphia 76ers will enter their opening night matchup against the New York Knicks dealing with plenty of injury developments.

Ahead of their marquee opening-night showdown against the reigning NBA champions, the Sixers offered key injury updates on their roster.

The 76ers will finally get Anfernee Simons and Adem Bona back in action but will be without Dean Wade.

Anfernee Simons, Adem Bona available for 76ers vs. Knicks

The Philadelphia 76ers have announced that Anfernee Simons will play in their first game of the season in New York against the Knicks.

Simons did not play for the Sixers' whole 2026 preseason, as the sixth man guard had to recover from left hamstring soreness

Bona missed the entire preseason after spraining his foot. While he was initially listed as questionable, he has officially been cleared to suit up.

He is expected to play a critical depth role, logging backup center minutes behind Joel Embiid. And with Simons ready to play, Philadelphia will further gain a tremendous scoring and backcourt boost off the bench to help Tyrese Maxey.

Dean Wade out vs. Knicks

While the return of Anfernee Simons and Adem Bona offers promising news, the Philadelphia 76ers will subsequently deal with the absence of Dean Wade.

Wade (left ankle sprain) has been ruled out by Philadelphia. The big man was listed as questionable to play on Tuesday.

The 76ers are shorthanded deep on the frontcourt, as Dominick Barlow (back), Tacko Fall (hip), and Ariel Hukporti (Achilles) have all been officially ruled out for today's contest
