Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez has not missed a game since 2022, but he suffered a foot injury on a blocked punt in a loss to the Titans last Sunday and could sit out against the Vikings in Week 7. With Sanchez’s status up in the air, the Colts brought in Morstead as a fallback option. The 17-year veteran, including 12 seasons with the Saints, has averaged 46.7 gross yards and 41.3 net yards per punt during his career. Morstead played a full season last year in San Francisco, where he posted a 43.6 gross and a 36.7 net on 44 punts, but the team didn’t re-sign him. The 40-year-old didn’t draw any reported interest between the start of free agency and his agreement with the Colts.
