Arsenal are reportedly lining up a move to sign Club Brugge star Nicolo Tresoldi in the January transfer window.

Tresoldi joined Brugge from German second-tier outfit Hannover 96 in June 2025 and has gone on to establish himself as one of the most sought-after attacking talents in Belgian football.

In that time, the 22-year-old has racked up 32 goals and nine assists in all competitions for Brugge, helping the club win both the Belgian Pro League and the Belgian Super Cup.

Tresoldi was the the top goalscorer in the division last season after netting 19 times in 40 appearances – two clear of his then Brugge team-mate Christos Tzolis, who went on to complete a move to Arsenal in the summer.

According to The Sun, Tresoldi’s barnstorming form has not gone unnoticed at the Emirates and the German striker could be set to follow Tzolis to north London before too long.

It’s claimed the English champions are actively ‘exploring’ a potential bid to prise Tresoldi away from Brugge this winter, with Mikel Arteta’s patience for Viktor Gyokeres to meet expectations seemingly wearing thin.

Tresoldi’s fellow countryman Kai Havertz has been an ever-present figure in Arteta’s starting XIs thus far in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Gyokeres has been limited to just four substitute appearances in the top flight and is yet to register a single goal involvement.

Brugge’s star striker is viewed as a potential solution up front and Arsenal’s healthy relationship with the Belgian club – on the back of their £35million deal for Tzolis – could be key to striking an agreement.

Back in March, reports emanating out of Germany named Arsenal as the ‘favourites’ to capture the centre-forward.

Brugge are said to have slapped a £42m price tag on Tresoldi having rejected a £30m offer from Roma for the Italy-born marksman towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Despite failing with their initial bid, Roma are yet to give up hope of landing Tresoldi and remain in the hunt for the attacker, who has scored nine goals in 11 games this term.

AC Milan are also known to be long-term admirers and Tresoldi has himself talked up a proposed move to the San Siro having supported the Serie A giants since childhood.

‘I’m a Milan fan. It’s a dream that pushes me to work every day,’ he told La Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this year.

‘I’m really happy here at Club Brugge, but I know I have a long way ahead of me.

‘The dream of playing for Milan is inside my head, and I think about it every morning when I wake up.’

Tresoldi’s current contract with Brugge is not due to expire until June 2029.
