FC Barcelona were unable to keep up their winning run intact as they suffered [a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/joan-garcia-9-5-gordon-5-5-psg-4-2-fc-barcelona-player-ratings/) in their third UEFA Champions League game. Hansi Flick highlighted several reasons for his team’s defeat in this game.
One of these reasons mentioned by Flick in his post-match press conference was the lack of fitness, as the Blaugranes got only a single day to properly train for this game after the win against Sevilla.
However, the Catalans were able to get back one of their most important players, Raphinha, back to availability for this game. The Brazilian played around one hour in this match, but was unable to influence the game a lot.
As [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20261020/1004241244/raphinha-resultado-pasar-demostramos-competir.html) has reported, the forward was one of the Barcelona players who spoke to the media after the match. Raphinha admitted that it was a very difficult match for his side:
**“We knew this could happen. We’re facing the two-time European champions, and they’re very strong in front of their own fans.”**
Despite it being the first defeat of the season, the Brazilian was not too concerned about it:
**“We wanted to come away with a win or at least a point, but it’s not the end of the world. These things happen when they’re supposed to, and in the end, we’ve only lost three points.”**
For now, the forward was looking towards Flick to prepare for the upcoming game against Real Madrid:
**“We’ll see what the manager can tell us to help us improve and be ready for the Clásico.”**
Raphinha was also satisfied with the performance of his team:
**“They’re a very well-coached team. Despite today’s result, we competed well. Both teams like to play with the ball, and we had possession. It was a good test and shows that we can compete. This kind of result can happen, but we played well.”**
Regarding his substitution, the Brazilian assured that it was previously planned:
**“In the end, I’ve had less than a week of training, and the plan was always for me to play fewer minutes.”**
Meanwhile, he also revealed that he was feeling good after the game:
**“I finished the match feeling good and strong, and I’m trying to improve my fitness further.”**
However, he did not have much to reveal about Olmo’s condition:
**“I don’t know what happened to Dani. We’ll speak to the manager and the doctor now to find out.”**
When asked if this defeat could influence the team in the upcoming El Clasico, the forward was quite clear:
**“It can’t have any influence whatsoever.”**
Hopefully, this will turn out to be the case, and Barcelona will only take away positives from this game, and work on improving the weaknesses that they showed. Meanwhile, Raphinha will also get some time to further improve his fitness and hopefully he will be back to his best level by Sunday.
