Due to a passing in his immediate family, Bayern Munich have confirmed that Joshua Kimmich will not be in the squad today for the UEFA Champions League match against Arsenal. In his place, Tom Bischof is expected to start alongside Aleksandar Pavlović.
Manuel Neuer is also expected to return in goal in place of Jonas Urbig after missing their 6-1 victory over RB Leipzig on Saturday. Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano and Kim Minjae are each expected to retain their place, but Alphonso Davies could be tasked with marking Bukayo Saka, in place of Nathaniel Brown.
Bischof made his stamp on the German national team during the recent international break, and he is set to replace Kimmich at the heart of Bayern’s midfield.
Additionally, Bayern will be without Michael Olise after his red card against Viking FK last week, which could see Lennart Karl starting in his place. Jamal Musiala is currently sidelined which saw Ismail Saibari start against Leipzig, but Serge Gnabry could be given the nod against his former club.
Bayern Munich: Neuer – Laimer, Upamecano, Kim, Davies – Bischof, Pavlovic – Karl, Gnabry, Luis Diaz – Kane
Arsenal: Raya – Timber, Konsa, Gabriel, Hincapie – Rice, Lewis-Skelly – Saka, Ødegaard, Madueke – Havertz
