Emerson Nwaneri found himself at the centre of an extraordinary north London derby after two injuries forced Arsenal into an emergency reshuffle, before a remarkable stoppage-time finish.

Emerson Nwaneri, the younger brother of Ethan Nwaneri, found himself in the unlikely position of playing in goal for Arsenal Under-18s on Saturday, after injuries forced both recognised goalkeepers out of a dramatic 2-1 north London derby victory over Tottenham.
The outfield player took the gloves late in the game after Jack Talbot and his replacement Maximilian Lo Presti were both forced off.
Talbot had earlier produced a fine fingertip save from a free kick before being injured in a collision with Tottenham’s Oliver Boast.
Lo Presti then entered the game, only to suffer an injury of his own after being caught by Phoenix Offiah while attempting to claim a cross.
With Arsenal out of recognised goalkeepers, Nwaneri stepped in and saw out the remainder of the match without conceding.
His contribution did not end there.
Tottenham had taken the lead through Joel Vidal-Philbert early in the second half, only for summer arrival Mylo Bernard to equalise almost immediately.

Arsenal then found a winner in the 97th minute.
Nwaneri launched a long free kick forward from deep, beginning the move that settled the derby. The ball reached Luis Munoz, who moved it wide to Bernard.
The striker then cut inside and struck a spectacular long-range effort in off the crossbar for his second goal of the game.
Nwaneri did not receive the assist, with Munoz supplying the final pass, but the emergency goalkeeper had started the decisive attack from inside his own half.
Explaining how he ended up between the posts, Nwaneri said: “After the goalies got injured unfortunately, Abraham was asking me and told me ‘you should go in goal.’
“I thought he was joking but I was fine with doing it because I know I’m quite good in goal. I played a bit at secondary school and I also did it last season for the under 16s in small-sided games with Michael Donaldson. Only in training, but I was used to it.
“I wasn’t that nervous, to be honest. Our coach Josh Smith just said to get the ball up the field as much as possible, which helped us get the winning goal.”
