Caleb is back and so we bring back the stat tracker:
Now…a lot has changed with a three game absence and maybe we’ll switch some thing up. However, 31 points on the first full game back for Caleb and I still have huge expectations for this offense. Let’s see where this goes. The 4,000 yard passer dream is likely not going to happen as he needs to average a cool 299 each game. Same story on the touchdowns as he needs to have a few monster games to really put it back on the table.
But I still like the chance of this offense setting the franchise mark for points in a single season and I think Caleb still has a shot at rising up to 3rd all-time in TDs and maybe 5th in yards. He also notched his first 300 yard game of the year and if he’s truly going to operate with such increased efficiency with the explosives we saw in Week 1, I don’t think that record should be too difficult to reach.
The receiving yard distribution will be fun to watch with Caleb’s return as well as I assume Colston Loveland will start to rise up and close the gap between his total and that of Rome and Luther. I was extremely excited entering the year because I figured these records would be easy pickings for Caleb Williams and this offense. With the hamstring injury, it has moved to doubtful but not out of the question.
Do you think Caleb has any shot at the franchise marks or are we waiting for 2027?
Are you confident the Bears are headed in the right direction?
Every week of the season we will ask fans if they think the team is moving in the right direction. This allows us to track the level of confidence in the fan base throughout the season and analyze what events had the biggest impact in fan support.
