Stan Collymore Names The 2 Clubs That Trent Alexander-Arnold Could Join If He Leaves Real Madrid
Ex-Liverpool striker Stan Collymore thinks the Reds and Bayern Munich would be the two likeliest destinations if Trent Alexander-Arnold does depart Real Madrid
The 28-year-old is struggling to get regular game time at the Bernabeu, and speaking to Betarades.gr, Collymore said a move next summer could be on the cards:
“He needs people to look at the end of the season and say, if he’s not getting into Real Madrid’s first team, then he’s going to have an emotional return back to Liverpool, which a lot of people will be saying.”
“You could also quite easily see him going the Harry Kane route and going somewhere like Bayern, who will be having him all day long. He’ll be going down the right-hand side, pinging balls to Olise, Diaz and Harry Kane left, right and centre.”
Alexander-Arnold does have other suitors
In addition to a return to Liverpool, the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the England international, along with Bayern.
At the moment, Alexander-Arnold is said to be focused on playing for Real Madrid, but he will likely assess his future at the end of the season if he is still sitting on the bench. He has started 4 times in 11 games since the appointment of Jose Mourinho in the summer.
Would he be welcomed back in Liverpool?
Some supporters have not forgiven Alexander-Arnold for the way he left Anfield. After he decided not to renew his contract, the Reds accepted a €10m bid from Real in May 2025 to prevent him from leaving for nothing.
The fullback would have a lot of making up to do if a return does happen. For now, though, Collymore and others are merely speculating about the possibility; nothing more.
