The Los Angeles Lakers will be opening their season against the Golden State Warriors, and it feels like they're in a new era coming into the year. That new era starts with Luka Doncic, who is the bona fide star of the team, and will be looked upon to lead the team every night.

Before the season opener, Doncic took out a full-page ad to write a letter to Lakers fans.

“Dear LA, Tonight we start our run for a championship. Every player dreams of holding that trophy. To do it for all of you amazing fans would mean everything to us. Each of us understands what it means to put on this purple and gold jersey and follow the players who wore it before us. It means so much because of the passion and dedication that generations of you all have shown for this team,” Doncic wrote.

Doncic went on to talk about how the Lakers have a special team this season, and he knows what the fans are expecting out of them. In the end, he personally talks about the support he's gotten from the fans since he arrived to the team.
