We have an exciting announcement to make at the beginning of the Portland Trail Blazers season. Once again, for the 19th year in a row, we will be sending almost 3000 kids and chaperones from the local area to see the Trail Blazers play in person!
The vast majority of participants would never get to see a Blazers game in person, except for this event. Teachers, counselors, coaches, and people who work with underserved youth write in to us, asking if they can take their group to the game. They gather drivers and chaperones, tell the kids where to gather, and take them to a real, live NBA game, free of charge! We get to say, “Yes!” to dozens of community leaders and educators every year, sending thousands and thousands to see their very first Blazers game! It’s how we give back to the community and pass fandom along to the next generation. Frankly, it also gives many of the participants a glimpse into a world that seems commonplace to the rest of us, but that they never get to access because the resources just aren’t available.
You can see it in the faces of the participants and the adult leaders as they step into the arena on the Big Night and see the Blazers court, the big screens, the logos, and, of course, the players they love. The cheers—and sometimes tears—are real.
We are happy to announce that this season’s Blazer’s Edge Night will happen on **Wednesday, March 10th, 2027** as the Blazers take on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. It’s a great game, perhaps an important one, and it should be tons of fun!
Here’s how it works. The Blazers have set aside 2914 tickets for that game, most reasonably-priced and in the upper bowl sections. Those are reserved for this event. As long as the tickets are purchased and donated before February, they are ours. Each ticket purchased equals one more participant going. There’s no overhead on our part, no administrative fees other than those associated with ticket-buying from the Blazers. It’s a true, grassroots, 100%-give-ourselves-away event.
Your part in this is to consider whether you can help and, if so, simply [head through this link](https://trailblazers.spinzo.com/blazers-edge-night-portland-trail-blazers-vs-denver-nuggets-2027-03-10-XSQVP?group=blazers-edge-xw4g&viewcode=r934ue8) to the site the Trail Blazers have set up for this event. When you follow that link, you are purchasing tickets directly from the Blazers, just as if you were buying them for yourself. But instead of going into your account, they go into the event bucket, from which they’ll be distributed to kids in need. It’s really that easy! You can use your credit card or whatever other forms of payment the Blazers take. They’ll do all the organizing and processing. You just tell them to reserve that many tickets for kids and we’re good to go!
We sold out last year’s event. This year the Blazers have opened up even more tickets for us. There’s _never_ a shortage of kids and chaperones who want to go. This night, and this kind of self-giving, defines our site and the Portland community. Please [donate tickets if you can](https://trailblazers.spinzo.com/blazers-edge-night-portland-trail-blazers-vs-denver-nuggets-2027-03-10-XSQVP?group=blazers-edge-xw4g&viewcode=r934ue8) so we can continue to say, “Yes!” to all the people who need them. Tickets start at $17 and range up to $30. Whether it’s one ticket or a hundred, you make a difference when you give.
Thanks to all of you who will help with this project this year. Let’s make the season happy for a bunch of young fans who won’t be able to see the Blazers play without us!
