Two NBA teams interested in Dalton Knecht, per report

Right after leaving the Los Angeles Lakers, Dalton Knecht has reportedly gained plenty of interest already in the market.

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Knecht is being eyed by the Sacramento Kings for a potential two-way roster signing along with Sean Pedulla.

Knecht is also among the players being considered by several NBA teams, including the Toronto Raptors.

Dalton Knecht draws Kings, Raptors interest after Lakers exit

Dalton Knecht is now officially an unrestricted free agent after clearing waivers, as no team picked up his current deal upon being waived by the Los Angeles Lakers last Monday.

The Lakers parted ways with Knecht to meet the NBA's 15-player roster requirement entering the 2026-27 NBA season.

During his rookie season in 2024-25, Knecht averaged 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 19.2 minutes per game across 78 appearances. His numbers declined last season with 4.2 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists in 10.2 minutes per game over 54 appearances.

The Kings currently have one open standard roster spot and one open two-way spot, whereas the Raptors entered the regular season with their 15-man standard roster fully occupied.

The Kings' reported interest in Knecht can be connected to Ben Simmons' shocking season-ending torn Achilles injury.
