Growth in the Bay Area housing market shows no sign of slowing.

For the second month in a row, all nine Bay Area counties had home values rise in September, according to Zillow’s most recent data. San Francisco was up for the 13th straight month, rising 2% from the numbers in August. Home values hit around $1.4 million, which is still down 2.8% from the city’s 2022 peak, but that gap could soon close. The city is up 15.5% since September 2025.

Marin County also saw its 13th straight month of growth, as home values rose 0.7% in September. The typical home value reached about $1.5 million. Belvedere and Ross had the county’s biggest gains, up 11.3% and 10.1%, respectively.

San Mateo County had its third month of rising prices, with home values up 0.8% in September. There, home values hit about $1.6 million. Atherton, recently dubbed the most expensive ZIP code in the country (for the ninth time), is up 16.2% year over year. The town’s typical home value of $8.6 million is by far the highest in the Bay Area.

The remaining six counties had modest growth in September. Santa Clara County and Sonoma County saw prices inch up 0.4%, while Alameda, Contra Costa and Napa grew 0.2%. Solano had a rise of only 0.1%.

Even towns where prices dropped in the last month had only small declines. The biggest dip was in Cazadero in Sonoma County, a loss of 0.7%, but even that small community’s prices are up 0.3% since 2025.
