Arsenal played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last night.
The Gunners went into the game on a three-match winning streak, but could not extend the run at the Allianz Arena.
Still, they produced a credible performance. Eberechi Eze opened the scoring from a lovely long ball from Martin Odegaard.
Bayern equalised through Alphonso Davies before Harry Kane put them ahead from the penalty spot.
However, the Gunners shared the spoils after midfielder Declan Rice equalised in the 82nd minute.
Rice brilliantly linked up with Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres in quick succession before unleashing a powerful shot across goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Speaking after the game, Keown praised the England international and said he has ‘a twin engine’ after his quick decision-making in the lead-up to the goal.
He told TNT Sports: “Declan Rice just gets better and better. He’s got a twin engine. He’s getting quicker as everyone else was getting slower and this will give them confidence if these two meet again in this competition. It feels like this story is not finished.”
Rice recently delivered the match-winning assist for Noni Madueke against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and continued the good form by equalising at Bayern.
Aside from his goal, the 27-year-old had a passing accuracy of 90 percent. He won 10 duels against the Bavarian giants with a 100 percent aerial success rate (3/3).
The midfielder also made five recoveries and two clearances. Rice had a mixed start to the match, but stepped up in the second half, which he usually does.
Arsenal have dropped to seventh in the league phase of the Champions League after three games, but they still remain in contention for a direct last 16 spot.
Next up, the Gunners host Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Rice, who has already bagged four assists in the top-flight campaign, could play another key role against the Toffees, who can be a stubborn defensive unit.
