Reports over the past couple of months indicate the Kansas City Chiefs could be interested in bringing back Tyreek Hill.

For now, Hill's future in the NFL remains uncertain due to off-the-field issues. In other areas, adding another wide receiver besides Hill seems to be at the top of the priority list.

The Chiefs have been the best team in football to start this season, perhaps outside of the San Francisco 49ers, and look to have a legitimate chance to win a Super Bowl.

However, they still need a wide receiver, which is why the latest suggestion that Kansas City could be interested in veteran Chris Godwin makes a ton of sense.

“Chiefs – Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin: How much of his decline is due to the fact the Bucs haven’t been able to push the ball downfield for years and Baker Mayfield was not good or healthy least year and same thing this year? And the loss of Mike Evans has set Tampa’s pass game back?

“The Chiefs likely need more than one roll of the dice at the receiver position given all their issues there, and lack of another playmaker was a concern even before the season began. "Even if they sign (free agent WR Tyreek) Hill, Andy (Reid) is going to want to do something else," said an NFL exec who knows Reid well and used to work with him,” Jason La Canfora wrote.

Godwin has been a very good player for much of his career, but he's dealt with injuries as well.

He's been decent this year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but hasn't been the same type of player that we're used to seeing.

Much of that could be because Baker Mayfield is injured, though it's also fair to wonder if the 30-year-old is slowing down a bit.

On the season, Godwin has 23 receptions for 260 yards, averaging 9.4 yards per catch. He hasn't scored a touchdown yet.
