David Moyes would jump at the chance to manage Celtic, according to former West Ham scout Mick Brown.
Moyes has managed Everton since January 2025, when he steered them to a 13th-place finish on 49 points. Rumours recently emerged linking him with the Celtic job come the end of this season, though nothing is concrete.
Everton are currently eighth after seven games this campaign, having lost one and drawn four.

Moyes’ contract at the Merseyside club expires this summer, and there has reportedly been no progress in talks regarding an extension. Journalist Alan Nixon claimed that the Hoops are keeping tabs on his situation.

Given he is a former Celtic player, it’s hardly a surprise.
Martin O’Neill agreed to stay on a permanent basis for at least a season, though there’s no guarantees the club legend will remain in the dugout beyond this campaign.
Now Mick Brown, who worked with Moyes at West Ham United, says the 63-year-old would find the idea of managing the Celts appealing.

Moyes is said to be happy at the Toffees, with no plans to leave, but he could be forced to assess his options in a few months.
Speaking to Football Insider, Brown said it would be “a major coup” for the Hoops: “There’s still a lot that has to happen before we can talk about David Moyes leaving Everton.
“But if they can’t reach an agreement about a new contract, then he will have to consider his options, and I think the Celtic job could be very appealing for him.
“He would jump at the chance to go back to Scotland, with the club he used to represent as a player, so it would make a lot of sense for all parties.
“From a Celtic point of view, it would be a major coup to land a manager like Moyes, and that’s why I do have doubts about whether he will end up leaving Everton.
“But he’s obviously got family up in Scotland, so that’s always a possibility that he could be tempted to move back there, and as I said, the Celtic job will surely appeal to him.”
While Moyes may find the Celtic job highly appealing, supporters will be sceptical.
Some will see it as a lack of ambition. Moyes’ managerial success cannot be denied, but whether he would be the right fit for the Scottish champions is another question entirely.
O’Neill is the man in the dugout for now, having recently admitted that his decision to remain in charge didn’t take long. His full focus will be on delivering more silverware and trying to get the Hoops’ first points in the Europa League.
