Dallas and Chicago have both allowed more than 31 half-PPR points per game to receivers over the last three weeks, making Eagles wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks and Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas Week 7 fantasy football start ’em picks.

Minnesota and Seattle allow 22.0 and 18.7 half-PPR points per game to receivers this season, respectively, which puts Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen and Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy on the sit ’em list.

Wicks is my WR31 for Week 7, and Douglas is WR37. Worthy is WR38, and Allen is WR40. On Yahoo, for my sits, Worthy is still in 35% of starting lineups, while Allen starts in 22%. My starts, Douglas and Wicks, appear in lineups at 19% and 6%, respectively.

How did Week 6’s WR start-sit picks fare?

NFL - Houston Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars

My Week 6 receiver calls split 2-2.

Jaylin Noel was the best start of the group. He caught four passes for a career-high 107 yards and a 13-yard touchdown in Houston’s 34-31 win over Jacksonville in London, good for 18.7 half-PPR points.

Rashod Bateman never got going. With Lamar Jackson out again, Bateman failed to catch his only target before aggravating a shoulder injury late in the second quarter of Baltimore’s 13-10 loss at Cleveland, and he didn’t return.

Wicks also missed. He caught two of four targets for 24 yards in Philadelphia’s 25-14 loss to Carolina, as DeVonta Smith returned from a hamstring injury and drew 14 targets.

The Chris Godwin Jr. sit landed. He caught four of eight targets for 37 yards in Tampa Bay’s 26-19 overtime loss to Pittsburgh, his fourth straight game under 40 receiving yards.

Week 7 WR start ’em: Dontayvion Wicks, Eagles

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars

Week 7: vs. Dallas, 30.6 FP/G to WRs (27th)

Week 6: vs. Carolina, 2 rec. for 24 yds

Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve with a blood clot and isn’t expected back this season, so Tanner McKee is Philadelphia’s quarterback going forward. McKee completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown in his first start against Carolina.

That 45-attempt workload is the volume case for Wicks. Philadelphia is a 4.5-point home underdog in a game with a 44.5 total, and another trailing script would keep McKee throwing Monday night.

Smith will command the top target share, but Wicks has 284 receiving yards this season and remains the No. 2 receiver. Hollywood Brown was inactive in Week 6 despite practicing fully, and rookie Makai Lemon finished with three catches for 19 yards.

The Cowboys have given up 30.6 half-PPR points per game to receivers this season, sixth-most, and 36.3 over the last three weeks. Dallas is also playing without strong safety Jalen Thompson, who’s on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Wicks is a flex start at WR31, with the matchup carrying more of the case than his Week 6 output.

WR start ’em Week 7: DeMario Douglas, Patriots

NFL: New York Jets at New England Patriots

Week 7: at Chicago, 26.9 FP/G to WRs (19th)

Week 6: vs. N.Y. Jets, 7 rec. for 86 yds, 1 TD

Douglas caught seven of eight targets for 86 yards and a 9-yard touchdown in Sunday’s 26-19 win over the Jets, tying his career high in receptions. He has 11 catches for 151 yards and three touchdowns on 13 targets over the last two games.

His role grew when Romeo Doubs hurt his shoulder against the Jets. Doubs and Mack Hollins are both on injured reserve, and Douglas ran 26 routes on Drake Maye’s 35 dropbacks after Doubs left. A.J. Brown, meanwhile, caught just three of 10 targets for 27 yards.

Chicago allows 26.9 half-PPR points per game to receivers, and that climbs to 31.1 over the last three weeks with four receiving touchdowns allowed to wideouts. The Bears are 3-point home favorites in a game with a 50.5 total, the second-highest of the week, giving New England an implied 23.75 points.

Douglas is a flex start at WR37, and his recent target share in a high-scoring game environment gives him a better setup than his 19% Yahoo start rate suggests.

Also consider starting: Ryan Flournoy, Cowboys at Eagles (32.0 FP/G allowed, 4th-most)

Week 7 WR sit ’em: Keenan Allen, Colts

Week 7: at Minnesota, 22.0 FP/G to WRs (T-4th)

Week 6: vs. Tennessee, 8 rec. for 82 yds

Allen led Indianapolis with eight catches for 82 yards on 11 targets in Sunday’s 26-20 loss to Tennessee, all season highs for the 34-year-old. Tight end Tyler Warren missed the game with a groin injury, and Allen absorbed most of the short-area work.

The 5-0 Vikings allow a league-low 12.8 points per game and blitz more than any defense in the league, and they’re coming off a bye. The Titans sacked Daniel Jones six times, and his air yards per attempt drop to 5.2 against the blitz from 9.5 without it.

Short throws could keep Allen’s catch total alive, but Minnesota has allowed only 14 catches for 142 yards and no touchdowns to receivers over its last two games.

The Colts are 6.5-point underdogs in a game with a 41.5 total, and their implied 17.5 points are tied for the week’s lowest. Indianapolis also fired general manager Chris Ballard after the Titans loss.

Allen is in 22% of Yahoo starting lineups, and managers with a comparable option should bench him at WR40.

WR sit ’em Week 7: Xavier Worthy, Chiefs

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

Week 7: at Seattle, 18.7 FP/G to WRs (3rd)

Week 6: vs. L.A. Chargers, 7 rec. for 73 yds

Worthy caught all seven of his targets for 73 yards in Kansas City’s 22-6 win over the Chargers, his best game of the season with Rashee Rice sidelined by a hamstring injury. He played 84% of the snaps.

“They told me all week it’s going to be for me, and I’ve got to step up for the receiver room,” Worthy said.

Rice didn’t practice Wednesday, though Chiefs coach Andy Reid said the receiver is making progress. A Rice return would cut into the targets Worthy collected against the Chargers, and Worthy hasn’t reached 15 PPR points in a game this season.

The defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks allow 18.7 half-PPR points per game to receivers, third-fewest, and 18.8 over the last three weeks. Seattle has given up 603 receiving yards and four touchdowns to wideouts in six games.

Kansas City is a 2.5-point underdog with a 42.5 total, which gives the Chiefs an implied 20 points and little reason to expect a pass-heavy comeback script.

Worthy is in 35% of Yahoo starting lineups, the most of this week’s four calls, and his WR38 ranking reflects a defense that’s held receivers under 19 half-PPR points per game all season.
