The new-look Los Angeles Lakers impressed on opening night, dominating the Golden State Warriors, with newcomer Walker Kessler playing a key role in the Lakers' first win of the season.
Kessler dominated with an epic performance in his Lakers debut, finishing with 26 points on perfect 12-of-12 shooting.
He also controlled the glass with nine boards and terrorized the Warriors inside with two rejections.
This performance caught plenty of attention among fans, as well as from Lakers legend Shaquille O'Neal.
During an interview on Inside The NBA, the Hall of Famer gave Kessler a new viral nickname, calling him "Milk Chamberlain" for his incredible game against the Warriors.
"Your new nickname is Milk Chamberlain. I love you Milk!" Shaq said.
Walker Kessler joins Lakers legendary bigs after remarkable debut
Walker Kessler hammered a massive statement in his first game as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. As a result, he also earned himself staggering feats that put his name alongside two of the greatest bigs to ever play in the franchise's history.
Kessler is the first Lakers player with 10 dunks in a single game since Shaquille O'Neal in 2003. Moreover, due to his superb 12-of-12 shooting, he became the first LA player since Wilt Chamberlain in 1969 to have a perfect shooting game.
He also dropped the most field goals without a miss by any player in his debut with a team in NBA history, per OptaSTATS.
Expectations are high for Kessler to perform after the price the Lakers had to pay just to acquire him this past offseason. Now, his first test as the center of the team's future is off to a good start.
Up next for Kessler and the Lakers will be the LA Clippers on Friday.
