Eagles get good news on Saquon Barkley for Week 7 MNF game vs. Cowboys image
The 2026 season for the Philadelphia Eagles has gone horribly wrong for many different reasons in just six weeks. Now, the team is set to face the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
While Jalen Hurts and Lane Johnson aren't playing, the Eagles got DeVonta Smith back from injury a week ago, and now it seems like Saquon Barkley might be back as well.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Barkley is set to return to practice on Thursday, the team's first of the week before they face their NFC East rivals in primetime.
Eagles get good news as Saquon Barkley set to return to practice
"Eagles RB Saquon Barkley is expected to return to practice today and is in line to play Monday against the Cowboys, sources say," Garafolo reports.
Even though Barkley isn't confirmed to be suiting up for Week 7 against the rival Cowboys, this is still some huge news for the Eagles as they head deeper into the season.
Sitting at 2-4, it might seem like the season is over. But a weak NFC East has the Eagles still in play for the division. A win over Dallas would be a huge first step for a Tanner McKee-led team in pursuit of a playoff spot.

Getting Barkley back would be a massive boost for the offense. The running game has been horrible all year for the Eagles, and it's been thanks in part to Barkley's injury issues really limiting his on-field production.
He's really only played two full games, as he's missed two games, and was pulled from two others very early due to injuries. This most recent issue, a hamstring, has kept him out of the team's Week 5 and Week 6 matchups.
But now, with Garafolo's report before the team's Thursday practice, it seems that Barkley is very close to a return to play on game day, with the expectation that he'll practice, a very good sign he'll be back for the Eagles this week.
