Rodri has established himself as one of the most influential figures in Barcelona’s dressing room, assuming an unofficial leadership role within the squad.
According to Radio CAT, the summer signing from Manchester City has earned the respect of his teammates through his commanding communication, tactical understanding and increasingly close collaboration with Hansi Flick, despite not wearing the captain’s armband.
His growing influence has also helped shape a leadership partnership with Raphinha, who has also stood out as one of the squad’s most prominent voices.
Rather than replacing the Brazilian, Rodri is said to have brought a different dimension to Barcelona’s leadership structure, giving Flick a strong, influential player capable of reinforcing his ideas among the squad.
Rodri arrived at Barcelona with a relatively reserved approach, preferring to listen rather than speak extensively.
However, his position within the dressing room has since changed, with the midfielder developing into a figure whose opinions carry considerable weight among his teammates.

Radio CAT reports that his authority comes partly from the conviction with which he communicates.
When Rodri speaks, players are said to pay close attention, with his influence extending from conversations within the dressing room to instructions delivered during matches.
The midfielder is also active at half-time team talks, offering technical and tactical guidance while helping teammates identify and correct mistakes.
That has led some to view Rodri more as an assistant to Hansi Flick.
Rodri’s emergence has coincided with a more complementary leadership dynamic alongside Raphinha.

Before the midfielder’s influence grew, the Brazilian was regarded as one of Barcelona’s most prominent dressing room leaders, particularly because of his passion and ability to energise those around him.
Raphinha provides the emotional intensity, encouraging teammates to fight and maintain their commitment during difficult periods. Rodri, by contrast, focuses more heavily on tactical explanations, positional details and correcting errors.
This allows the pair to support the squad in different ways. While Raphinha can raise the team’s energy levels, Rodri offers a more analytical voice, helping players understand the adjustments required to execute the game plan.
The arrangement does not suggest that Raphinha has lost his standing, but their different approaches appear to have created a leadership structure in which motivation and tactical guidance work together.
