The Arizona Cardinals will be facing the Denver Broncos this week, but it doesn't look like they'll have their rookie running back. Jeremiyah Love has been dealing with an ankle injury that forced him to miss last week against the Los Angeles Rams, and he's expected to miss another game, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
“The current expectation is that the Cardinals will be without standout rookie running back Jeremiyah Love this week against the Broncos, sources tell CBS Sports. Love (ankle) missed last week’s game vs. the Rams. Now expected to be out this week too,” Zenitz wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The good news is that the Cardinals have depth at the running back position, so several players can fill Love's void. The not-so-good news is that Love is dealing with injuries in his rookie season, and there's no telling when he could make his way back onto the field.
Before their game against the Rams, head coach Mike LaFleur spoke about Love and didn't have much of an update regarding the ankle injury.
“They're ankles. It's an ankle,” LaFleur said. “So, you don't know. I'm not a doctor and each body's a little bit different.”

Love has shown a few flashes throughout the season, and the Cardinals definitely want him on the field. At the same time, his health is the most important thing right now, and the hope is that he can return sooner rather than later.
After getting a big win against the Rams last week, the Cardinals will be looking to keep things going against the Broncos, who have one of the best defenses in the league.
