Man Utd above Barcelona: Every 2026-27 Champions League club ranked by money earned

The 2026-27 Champions League is well underway, with shock results and huge encounters already taking place in the league phase.

Paris Saint-Germain are aiming to make it three titles in a row, something that hasn't been done since Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane. Luis Enrique's side have already beaten top contenders such as Manchester City and Barcelona in their opening fixtures.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have suffered back-to-back losses and Andoni Iraola has overseen a big comeback under the lights at Anfield. But three games into the competition... who has earned the most? Well, Football365 have provided a breakdown of each club's earnings so far.

Azerbaijani champions Sabah have made history by winning their first-ever Champions League fixture, but have also suffered defeats against Man Utd and Borussia Dortmund. That means they're the only club to earn less than £20 million (£16.81m).

Among the teams on the lower end of the scale are Viking, who put three goals past Bayern Munich in a 3-3 draw. While that was an incredible result, the Norwegian club are still yet to win. They've made just over £20 million from three matches, which cushions the blow.

Como, who dismantled Michael Carrick's Man Utd and defeated RB Leipzig, have still only made £28.67m. Still, the progress the Italian outfit have made under Cesc Fabregas has them on an upward trajectory that promises plenty more to come.

Last season's biggest fairytale saw Bodo/Glimt beat the likes of Man City and Inter Milan on their way to the Round of 16. So far, it's not been quite as impressive with one win from three games. That still rakes in £31.22 million.

Portuguese giants Porto and Sporting CP are both in the top 20 earners, both making over £35 million from three matches. That puts them above the likes of Villarreal (£31.56m), Stuttgart (£33.71m) and PSV (£34.94m).

RB Leipzig were the whipping boys in the league phase in the 2024-25 season, losing seven out of eight games, before failing to even qualify last term. They are back in the competition, but have only won one game so far. Yet they are still the 17th highest earners, making £38.96 million.

Three Italian clubs have made good money from continental football this season. Napoli have been paid £40.84 million, Roma have earned £44.68 million, while Inter Milan are just shy of the £50 million mark.

Real Betis (£40.21m), Atletico Madrid (£43.27m) and Barcelona (£46.61m) ensure La Liga is well represented in this section of the money table. Remarkably, Man Utd have made just more than Barca despite suffering back-to-back defeats to Atletico and Como.

Unai Emery continues to work miracles at Villa Park. Aston Villa have made more than £50 million after picking up maximum points so far. Only six clubs have made a larger profit in the competition.

Last season's finalists Arsenal (£51.86m) and Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid (£55.04m) are sixth and fifth, respectively, after making unbeaten starts to their seasons in Europe.

Man City and Bayern Munich have both made just over £55 million despite sitting outside the top eight places at the time of writing. Iraola's Liverpool have beaten Atletico Madrid, LASK and Villarreal, with the latter two being goalfests. The Reds are the second-highest earners at £57.82m.

It's no great surprise that the defending champions, with victories over Man City and Barcelona under their belts, are the only side to take in more than £60 million. PSG top the league phase and the money table as Luis Enrique eyes more success.
