Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon has admitted that he was already struggling with fatigue just ten minutes into the team’s intense Champions League encounter against PSG.
The Catalan club travelled to the French capital to take on Luis Enrique’s side and came away with a 4-2 defeat.
According to [AS](https://as.com/futbol/champions/la-extrana-confesion-de-gordon-a-los-10-minutos-ya-estaba-cansado-f202610-n/), the English international made the surprising revelation during an interview with CBS after the match.
Gordon explained just how physically demanding the contest at the Parc des Princes had been.
**“It was a very chaotic game. I was very tired in the first ten minutes, and I kept getting more tired as the game went on, but it was a great match,”** Gordon admitted.
Despite the exhaustion, the Barcelona winger insisted that he enjoys playing in matches with such intensity and attacking freedom.
**“I prefer playing this way because it is exciting and creates more chances. I know it is a good game for the spectators, but yes, I am extremely tired,”** he added.
Gordon also praised Luis Enrique’s PSG, describing the French champions as the strongest team in European football.
**“They are the best team in the world and have been for the last two years. We hope to meet them again later,”** he said.
The Englishman has been one of Barcelona’s most impressive performers this season, quickly adapting to Flick’s demanding system following his summer arrival.
There is something revealing about Gordon’s admission. He is a player known for his speed, stamina and relentless running, yet even he found the opening minutes against PSG exhausting.
That speaks volumes about the intensity of the contest, but it also raises questions about Barcelona’s ability to sustain their aggressive approach against elite opposition.
Flick’s system demands constant pressing, quick transitions and repeated attacking runs. When opponents match that intensity, maintaining control becomes just as important as creating chances.
Gordon’s preference for attacking football is encouraging because it shows how naturally he has embraced Barcelona’s style.
However, the 4-2 defeat demonstrated that excitement alone is not enough. Barcelona must learn to manage such matches better.
Gordon and his teammates need to find the right balance if they wish to make a deep run in the Champions League, and it remains to be seen how the team improve from here.
