JOLIET, IL — Once every few months, Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow decides enough is enough, that it's time to throw the book at a suspected criminal. Such a scenario just occurred as Joliet police arrested 27-year-old Isaiah James out of Chicago Heights on 35 criminal charges. That's right 35.
James got booked into the jail on Wednesday night and there's no indication he's going to be let out anytime soon. His charges include 11 counts of dealing illegal drugs, three crimes of gunrunning, 13 counts of the sale of illegal guns by a convicted felon, five counts of armed violence, two counts of felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and one count of possessing or receiving a gun without a serial number.
At the time of his booking into the Will County Jail, James was wearing a Los Angeles Lakers T-shirt.
As of Thursday, the details for James' criminal complaint had not been made a matter of public record on the Will County Courthouse website.
