Rashee Rice has not played a game since early October, and the team’s practice report suggests it will still be another week until he’s ready to suit up. A second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the SMU product immediately developed a strong rapport with quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Appearing in 16 games while making eight starts, the rookie finished his inaugural campaign with 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns while playing an instrumental role in the team’s championship run.
Unfortunately, injuries and off-field issues have kept him from reaching his potential in recent seasons. The wideout played in just four games in 2024 thanks to an ACL tear and just eight games last season. Sadly, he hasn’t been able to shake the injury bug in 2026, as he’s appeared in just four games while recording 13 receptions for 190 yards and one touchdown. While he has yet to be officially ruled out for Week 7’s battle against the Seattle Seahawks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes Rashee Rice missed the past two days of practice with a hamstring injury, which doesn’t bode well for his availability.

Rashee Rice Injury Update: Chiefs WR Misses Practice (Hamstring)
If Rashee Rice cannot go, the Chiefs will once again find themselves without much depth at the wide receiver position. Former first-round pick Xavier Worthy will likely lead the receiving attack, as he finished last week with seven receptions for 73 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers. The offense will still run through Kenneth Walker, who currently leads the league in rushing yards and yards per attempt. While the Chiefs are a better team with Rice on the field, they still have ways to win games without him.
With or without Rashee Rice, the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against a desperate Seattle Seahawks team. The reigning Super Bowl champions are 3-3 and quickly falling behind in the NFC West race. While they should still make the playoffs, they must start playing better football if they want to defend their title deep into January.
