Arsenal Team News
Bukayo Saka lasted just 10 minutes in Germany before being replaced, and he will join William Saliba on the long-term injury list. There is good news for Martin Zubamendi, though, who is back in full training and looking to improve his match fitness after coming off the bench against Bayern. Christos Tzolis and Piero Hincapie are still a few weeks away from being involved.
On Saka, via the Arsenal website: “He’s got another MRI this afternoon because he had quite a lot of fluid in the area, so it was difficult to understand the extent of the injury. We will know more probably tomorrow. We need a few more scans and opinions from the specialists. When a player is struggling to walk off the pitch and he’s restricted in his movement, they are not good signs.”
On Hincapie: “Piero, let’s see. If he is able to train the next few days he can be available for Everton, which is great news.”

Christian Norgaard made his long-awaited debut in the defeat against Chelsea and came through unscathed, with Vitaliy Mykolenko also suffering no side effects from a recent knock. Jarrad Branthwaite has been the only other concern; however, the belief is that his training load is being managed after his injury problems over the last two seasons.
Moyes on keeping his cards close to his chest, via the Everton website: “We’ve got our share of bits and pieces and we’ll keep them quiet.
When asked specifically about the availability of Jarrad Branthwaite, Moyes added: “I wouldn’t be answering any questions [on team news], at the minute, that’s for sure.”
Discussing summer signing Nørgaard, Moyes added: “It actually wasn’t a difficult decision to bring him on, because he’s trained. I was trying to see if I could get him the final 15-20 minutes of the game because it would have been another little bit of game time for him.
“But I think when we brought him on we realised he’s a little bit further away than we hoped. But we also expected that, we didn’t think he was going to be back fully firing until probably after the next international break, because he’s had no real pre-season with us. He’s probably had 7-10 days of training, half a game (behind closed doors) but we’d seen enough to suggest – and I wanted to see if I could get him 20 minutes, the game time he needs. We tried it and it showed he’s probably got a bit to go.
“Christian was the first one to come to me and say he was sorry about it and he’s realised he’s probably a bit further away.”

The Last Word: Match Prediction
Losing Bukayo Saka will be a blow for Mikel Arteta; however, it isn’t unfair to suggest that Arsenal are used to having to deal without their mercurial winger for extended periods of time. The only issue this season is that trusted back-up options like Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are no longer at the club.
Even with the inevitable rotations, Arsenal should still have enough firepower to get past a team that doesn’t concede or score many goals; just don’t expect an open encounter.
For David Moyes, he will be looking to out-Arsenal, Arsenal. It will all be about shape, discipline, and set pieces with a workmanlike midfield featuring plenty of energy and aggression.
Prediction: Level at half-time before Arsenal’s quality pays dividends after the break, 2-0 to the Gunners.
