Denver announced in its injury report for Saturday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans that Johnson will be unavailable due to his right ankle sprain.

Johnson joins Spencer Jones (hamstring management) in the team's inactive list.

Cam Johnson out vs. Pelicans with ankle sprain

Cam Johnson sustained a right ankle sprain in the Denver Nuggets' 96-84 season-opening loss in Oklahoma City against the Thunder.

Johnson appeared to tweak his right ankle as he hit the deck hard with 3:30 left in the second quarter upon contesting Ajay Mitchell.

Johnson was limping before he was taken out of the game by Nuggets head coach David Adelman. He eventually entered the locker room and missed the remainder of the game.

Johnson tallied five points on 2-of-3 shooting in 11 minutes.

The Nuggets are already keeping it cautious for the veteran wing to start the NBA season.

DeMar DeRozan, Trevon Brazile, and Alpha Diallo could gain more minutes in the wake of Johnson's absence against the New Orleans Pelicans.
