Luka Doncic makes huge Walker Kessler claim after dominant Lakers start

The Los Angeles Lakers seem to have found the perfect piece alongside their star duo of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves this season.

The Lakers' new center Walker Kessler has been absolutely dominant in his first two games with the team, and his fit is looking seamless so far.

After the Lakers' 125-117 win against the LA Clippers on Friday night, the team's superstar Luka Doncic opened up on the play of Walker Kessler in his start with the Lakers.

Doncic, who finished the game with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 11 turnovers, praised the 25-year-old center for his unbelievable impact. While Doncic noted he is not surprised by Kessler's game, he stated that the big man is simply proving a lot of people wrong.

"Unbelievable, honestly," Doncic said postgame, praising Kessler's impact. "We know what we're getting, I'm not surprised by how he's playing. He knows how to play this game, he played for a long time. I'm not surprised but the fact that he's doing it, just proving a lot of people wrong is just unbelievable."

Walker Kessler is proving that he's the center the Lakers have been looking for in recent seasons.

Kessler scored 20-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time in his five NBA seasons, finishing with an impressive stat line of 22 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 6 blocks, all while shooting 10-of-14 (71.4%) from the field in 35 minutes against the Clippers.

Serving as a major lob threat on offense, an elite rim protector on defense, and a high-motor player on both ends of the court, Kessler fits perfectly with this new-look Lakers team.

Through his first two games, he's averaging an incredible 24.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks, while shooting 84.6% from the field.
