Arsenal vs Everton: Team News and Predicted Lineups
Last Word on Football brings you the latest team news and the confirmed lineups for Arsenal vs Everton on October 24 in a 15:00 GMT Premier League kick-off. Arsenal have won their last two league games and will be confident coming into this game. Everton suffered defeat last time out, against an improved Chelsea team, and will need to be better than we’ve seen so far to trouble Mikel Arteta’s team.

During his pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta discussed Saka’s injury and said:
“He’s got another MRI this afternoon because he had quite a lot of fluid in the area, so it was difficult to understand the extent of the injury, but we’ll know more probably tomorrow.”
When asked about the seriousness of the injury, Arteta said: “Again, we need a few more scans and opinions from the specialist. Obviously when a player has to walk off the pitch, he’s struggling to walk without any pain, he’s restricted to movement, they are not good signs. So again, let’s be a little bit patient so we can give a definitive assessment and then let you know.”
Reports have surfaced that the England international could be missing for a minimum of six weeks.
Arteta was also asked about Max Dowman being an option on the right-hand side:
“It’s something inevitable, to go back to that memory (Dowman scoring against Everton) and the feeling of the moment. That’s with us and that’s going to stay in the stadium for a long, long time I think. He’s training, and every time he’s got a moment to play, he’s showing that he’s a player who is going to impact the game, so for sure he’s going to have minutes,” said the Gunners boss.

When asked at his pre-match press conference, David Moyes remained tight-lipped on the availability of Jarrad Branthwaite: “We’ve got a share of bits and pieces and we’ll keep them quiet.”
“I wouldn’t be answering any questions at the moment, that’s for sure,” added the Everton boss.
Moyes also spoke on the recent return of summer signing Christian Norgaard:
“It actually wasn’t a difficult decision to bring him on, because he’s trained. I was trying to see if I could get him the final 15-20 minutes of the game because it would have been another little bit of game time for him.
“But I think when we brought him on we realised he’s a little bit further away than we hoped. But we also expected that, we didn’t think he was going to be back fully firing until probably after the next international break, because he’s had no real pre-season with us. He’s probably had 7-10 days of training, half a game (behind closed doors) but we’d seen enough to suggest – and I wanted to see if I could get him 20 minutes, the game time he needs. We tried it and it showed he’s probably got a bit to go.
“Christian was the first one to come to me and say he was sorry about it and he’s realised he’s probably a bit further away.”

The Last Word: Prediction for Arsenal vs Everton
Arsenal have returned to form since their shock 3-0 loss against Brighton before the international break. They showed their resolve in midweek, battling to a 2-2 draw against Bayern in the Champions League. Losing Saka is a blow, but Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard are both fit, and they make everything tick in this team.
Everton have shown battling qualities this season, but it’s difficult to point to a standout performance. They were beaten by Chelsea last week, and were second best for much of that contest. Aside from Thierno Barry, they lack options going forward. The Toffees will need a season-best performance to topple the Gunners.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Everton
