Bucs backup quarterback Jalon Daniels has proven to be very dangerous with his legs. He’s also young and fresh and sharp after three consecutive starts.
Will Bucs offensive guru Zac Robinson find a couple of snaps for Daniels tomorrow in Charlotte
Joe is curious. It seems obvious that a creative playcaller would see an opportunity in Daniels. Maybe a “wildcat” option or using Daniels as a decoy against the Panthers? Or having him line up under center for a couple of snaps to completely confuse the Carolina?
Joe’s football mind says this is a no-brainer. But will it happen?
With Baker Mayfield rushing back to start injured on Sunday, it seems the Bucs are in full desperation mode, which makes sense considering their deplorable 1-5 record. So that tells Joe that Todd Bowles should be demanding every weapon be maximized.
However, that philosophy seems almost an anathema to Bowles given his limited usage of his most dangerous defensive player, edge rusher David Walker.
No plan for Daniels would be another red flag for the current administration.
