A pair of rumors offers New York Giants fans an idea of if and when a potential Jonathan Taylor trade could happen.
The Giants sit atop the NFC East with a 3-2-1 record heading into Week 7. They are in a good position to reach the playoffs, but they can’t rely on luck to get them there. They need more talent and have been linked to different trades over the last couple of weeks. One position they badly need help at is running back.
Head coach John Harbaugh has lost trust in Cam Skattebo and Tyron Tracy Jr. because of their butter fingers. Then they surprisingly cut reliable veteran Najee Harris this week after he complained about how the RBs were used in their Week 6 loss.
It has put even more pressure on the front office to address the issue, and it is why a potential trade for the Indianapolis Colts star has been speculated about by NFL experts and fans as that team moves closer to being sellers before the deadline.

Saturday brought some new updates on if and when a deal could happen. According to The Athletics’s Jonathan Jones, “After speaking with sources in Indy and around the league, my understanding is that the team needs to see what the landscape is like in a few weeks before deciding on their star running back.”
So if a trade does happen it will have to wait until right before the Nov. 10 trade deadline. But is a deal realistic? Jones claims the Colts have had no trade discussions about the three-time Pro Bowler. But that doesn’t mean they won’t.
Tom Pelissero revealed on Saturday, “no player is expected to be off-limits—if they decide to sell before the November 10 trade deadline. That includes running back Jonathan Taylor, who also figures to be the subject of calls over the next couple of weeks.”
