Arsenal have made early enquiries about Eintracht Frankfurt forward Can Uzun. The 20-year-old has impressed in German football, but a potential deal could be expensive, with Frankfurt reportedly valuing him at €60 million, as per latest transfer news.
Arsenal make contact over Can Uzun transfer
Uzun has attracted attention with his technical ability and attacking performances in the Bundesliga. The Turkey international has even been compared to former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov because of his composure and style of play.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Arsenal have contacted 11WINS, the agency representing Uzun, as they consider a possible move. The club are also exploring a deal for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, who is represented by the same agency.
The reported approach suggests that Arsenal are assessing several attacking options rather than focusing on a single target. However, initial contact does not mean that the Premier League side are preparing an official bid for the Frankfurt forward.
Arsenal are also facing competition for the youngster’s signature. Aston Villa, Brighton and Everton are understood to be monitoring his progress, while Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Napoli have previously shown interest.
Uzun’s performances have made him an attractive prospect, but Arsenal must decide whether he fits their long-term plans and whether the asking price is reasonable. For now, there is no indication that a transfer is close.
Frankfurt could demand €60m for Uzun
Uzun’s growing reputation could make negotiations difficult for interested clubs. He might have been available for around €40 million during the summer. His strong start to the current campaign has reportedly increased his value.
Frankfurt are now understood to be pointing potential buyers towards a release clause worth €60 million. If that figure is accurate, any club hoping to sign him could face a substantial financial commitment.
The German club can also negotiate properly because Uzun’s contract runs until 2029. They have little immediate pressure to sell him and can demand a significant fee for one of their most promising players.
Arsenal have made initial contact over the forward. The source also indicated that Frankfurt knew about the interest and would highlight the release clause during discussions. However, Arsenal may not want to pay €60 million for Uzun. It would be a big risk to spend that much on a young developing player, especially if he needs more time to prove himself.

Arsenal could delay their transfer decision
There may be another season’s wait before the Gunners make a final decision on Uzun. This would give them more time to see his form and if he can become a more reliable attacker. Waiting would also allow the club to compare him with other targets before spending such a large sum. Uzun has shown great promise, but Arsenal must decide if he offers better value than other players on the market.
Uzun’s contract could also affect future talks. Frankfurt have little reason to lower their asking price now. However, this could change as he gets closer to the end of his deal. There is also no clear sign that Uzun wants to leave Frankfurt. Arsenal’s interest may appeal to him, but there is no proof that he wants a move.
For now, Arsenal’s reported interest does not mean a transfer is close. His form, Frankfurt’s asking price and Arsenal’s view of the €60 million fee will all help decide whether the club makes a move.
