How Arsenal really feel about their wingers after Bukayo Saka’s injury, ‘They’ll decide…’
The latest injury to Bukayo Saka is a bitter blow for Arsenal and the club now face an anxious wait ahead of the January window.
Saka’s newest problem could see him out for a number of months and with Christos Tzolis also out injured, the Gunners have a big issue in wide areas once more.
Andrea Berta’s failure to land another winger in the summer is now under the microscope once again and going into January, Mikel Arteta will be hoping his board back him once again.
However, with the pressure firmly on, Arsenal’s higher ups are apparently in control of the situation.
Whether Arsenal will sign a new winger in January after Bukayo Saka’s injury
Clearly, there is now a space in this Arsenal squad and it’s easy to argue that at least one new signing needs to be made in January.
However, Arsenal have invested heavily in recent years and according to journalist Ben Jacobs, there is said to be a comfort around the club that they have enough for now.
“Kenan Yildiz is very high in their thinking and yet there was no possibility to get him away from Juventus at a reasonable number anyway in the summer. Yande Diomande was another option considered but more known for Liverpool’s pursuit from England and now at Real Madrid,” Jacobs revealed for GiveMeSport.
“But because Eberechi Eze can play in wide areas and Noni Madueke can play on the right hand side or the left side Arsenal are very confident that they’ve got enough depth to get into January and then they’ll decide whether they feel anything is necessary.”
Arsenal’s big problem in January
One of the biggest issues facing Arsenal when it comes to the January window is that whoever they want to sign needs to be able to make an immediate impact.
That means that any new signing is going to cost huge money and with a player like Yildiz mentioned above, the Gunners are once again looking at a £100m splash.
Ultimately, it’s going to be a huge decision for the club to make. Many would argue another wide player was needed before injuries to Tzolis and Saka.
Now, if no signing is made and the title is lost, huge questions will once again come the way of Andrea Berta and co.
