Gill Clark Gill Clark is the site manager of Barca Blaugranes and joined in 2017. She has worked in sports media as a writer and editor for the best part of two decades and has been in love with the beautiful game for as long as she can remember.
Ronald Araujo has been quizzed on his future once again as he continues to enjoy life in the Premier League with Liverpool.
The defender was on target again in midweek in the Champions League and says it’s still way too early to think about whether he could stay on past the end of the current campaign.
”It’s too early to talk about it. I want to thank everyone for the support they’ve shown me, because it’s helped me a lot. Whether I stay at Liverpool or not isn’t solely up to me,” he told The Times.
There has been speculation already that Liverpool are willing to pay a buy option to keep Araujo, although it seems unlikely that any kind of decision has been made yet.
Araujo is certainly making an impact at Anfield and will hope he can continue to impress throughout the campaign. He also spoke about his difficult times at Barcelona last season when he ended up taking a mental health break.
“Sometimes you keep everything bottled up inside and try to be strong, but in life you have to talk about things and be honest about what you’re going through,” he added.
“Taking this break was the best decision I’ve ever made. Today I feel good, I’m happy, and I’m rediscovering the joy of playing football. Now I can show again what I’m truly capable of.”
