A brace from Manchester City striker Tireni Aiyegbusi put the visitors in control heading into the interval, despite a superb effort from Kieran Clarke to equalise.

Second-half goals from Javahn Woode, Darren Motsi and Freddie Lawrie extended the lead for the away side to give Bradley Johnson’s side their first home loss since 5th September.

Key Moments

-----------

The Rams headed into the game with confidence following last Saturday’s victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers, though the visitors took the lead after two minutes, with Aiyegbusi firing home from close range.

Derby found their way back into the game through Clarke, who found the top right corner with a curling right-footed effort in the 21st minute, firing the hosts level.

The strike proved to be the youngsters’ second goal in as many games, following a goal in the Rams’ victory against Wolves last weekend.

The Cityzens responded with a goal ten minutes after Clarke’s strike to go back in front, as Aiyegbusi bundled the ball over the line for his second goal, with 15 minutes to go before half-time.

The away side continued their goalscoring flurry after the interval, with Woode curling a low-driven effort in off the post to beat Derby Goalkeeper Spencer O’Neill in the 55th minute.

Motsi added a fourth just under 15 minutes later, meeting Woode’s ball across goal to tap the ball home.

Manchester City added a fifth goal with ten minutes remaining in the game, as Lawrie dampened the home side’s spirits to increase the gap to four.

Despite the defeat, Johnson’s side currently sit fifth in the Premier League U18 table, with the away side sitting top of the table.
