Real Madrid turned down a summer move for Barcelona star

The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid opted against making a move for Barcelona star Karim Adeyemi – then of Borussia Dortmund – this past summer.

This comes after Los Blancos were offered up the signature of the German international.

As per a report from Diario Sport, citing Fabrizio Romano, amid a contract standoff between Adeyemi and Dortmund, the latter made contact with the transfer team at the Santiago Bernabéu.

As much came with a view to gauging the interest of Florentino Pérez and co. in a cut-price deal for the 24-year-old, ahead of the expiration of his contract terms in 2027.

In the end, however, Real Madrid informed their Dortmund counterparts that they were not keen on Adeyemi, ultimately opting for the big-money addition of Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig.

All the while, Adeyemi was himself holding out for a dream move to Barcelona, a transfer which ultimately came to fruition for the explosive frontman back in July.
