Tristan Wirfs sounded like a Buccaneers fan after today’s blowout beatdown of the Panthers.
Buccaneers running backs ran 45 times for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The running game was relentless. Ironically, it was exactly what the Bucs tried to do on 10 days rest at Carolina last season to seal a playoff berth in December.
It wasn’t enough in 2025. It was more than enough today — after Carolina added a bunch of defensive firepower in the offseason.
> “We want to lead from the front. We want it to be on our shoulders,” Wirfs said of the offensive line on the 97.9 FM (98 Rock) postgame show. ” … It doesn’t have to be so hard … Trying our best, busting our balls, came out on top today.”
Wirfs sure is right about how the Bucs offensive shouldn’t have to struggle like it has. They have too talent for that.
Was today a sign the run game can carry the Bucs alongside a strong defense? The mountain is high. The next plateau is Sunday against Atlanta.
