Manchester City boss Andree Jeglertz: "It was a lot of emotions and I think that you can't say anything about the result but as a coach when you're one goal up, just a couple of minutes left you are always very disappointed about that. They are challenging us, they are doing a good game, I think that it was everything a derby should have, unfortunately we didn't get three points."

On Bunny Shaw: "She's so important for us, she's working hard, gets a lot of hits and knocks but she's amazing, scoring that goal for us and giving us at least one point. I'm happy for her, it was her 100th appearance also. It's amazing to achieve that, it's a great milestone for her."

On whether the team will need to be picked up before midweek in the Champions League: "We are not used to dropped points so of course it is like that and every time you concede a goal in the end of the game it's a little bit disappointing but I said also we can't afford that.

"We have a great chance just before, we don't score and then it's going to be like this. Of course they will be disappointed and we will be disappointed tomorrow and the day after but then we just need to move on directly and have a great performance in this week against PSG."

Manchester United boss Eva Olid: "What a performance from the team. What a fight. Good out of possession, really good moments with the ball and without the ball. We created chances, the only thing is we didn't score more than one goal. They had one big chance and don't need a lot to score.

"I have a mix of feelings - frustration because we deserved the three points today, but so happy with the performance and the fight and hard work we are doing together. Just two months working together and the progression has been incredible. It's still a process, we need to keep working hard, but today - wow.

"Today was a test and they could see we can have the ball and we can be really brave in defence and attack. Now from here, I hope we keep growing and always with confidence.

On going eight games unbeaten in all competitions: "We need to keep building, never relax but I think if we play like this, nothing can stop us.

"Today we had chances to finish, we didn't finish. The only thing missing today is to put the ball in the net more than one time to win the game. I hope we can keep improving."

Manchester United goal-scorer Elisabeth Terland: "It's a derby, you can feel it when you play. I think it's a good game for us, an even game but I think towards the end we get the goal which we deserve. I think we should be happy with the performance but we want more. A good game."

On whether they should have had more to show for their efforts at half-time: "I think so. We were really on them, I have a few close ones. We have some chances, which should set us ahead but we wanted to come out and do the same in the second half and we get the goal in the end which is good but I think we maybe deserved a little bit better or more this game."

On not letting missed chances get into your head: "I always want to help the team to score and finish the chances we get. We are still evolving as a team and we are playing in a different way which is very exciting. If we continue to do performances like this week in, week out it will just continue to get better. I will watch and learn from that because I should finish them but luckily we got one in the end which is good.

"I think it says a lot [about how far they've come]. It sets the tone for where we want to go as well. I think it's exciting the way we want to play and if we can turn up with fight like this every week we should continue on that journey so it's exciting."

Elisabeth Terland scored a late equaliser as Manchester United fought back to draw with rivals Manchester City in the Women's Super League at Leigh Sports Village.

The outcome ended City's 100% start to the season, and they now sit level on points with Chelsea at the top of the table.

Holding their neighbours was a huge boost for Eva Olid's United, who have bounced back from a poor start to the campaign to go nine games unbeaten in all competitions.

Terland fired the ball into the roof of the net after City striker Khadija Shaw, who had put her side in front, failed to clear a deep free-kick in the 89th minute.

That capped off a frustrating evening for City, who had not performed to their usual high levels and were put under pressure by United throughout the second half.

Olid's side defended well for large spells and were a constant threat on the counter-attack, eventually capitalising through Terland late on.

The result does not harm City too much at this stage of the season, but it could prove to be a catalyst for United to push on under Olid.

Manchester United have turned things around since their 5-0 drubbing by Chelsea in the second week of the season.

They came into the derby on a six-game winning run in all competitions and have gone back to their roots - defending solidly, pressing aggressively and playing more direct.

Olid hopes to add a sprinkling of her own style as the season progresses but their gameplan against City was clear - to stop them getting the ball to Shaw in the box.

They did it successfully in the first half and frustrated City for large spells, even causing them problems on the break on occasions through Ella Toone, Andrea Medina and Terland.

When the half-time whistle went, City's players were irritated and opposition manager Andree Jeglertz was restless on the touchline.

It was much the same story at the start of the season half, but Shaw, who was heavily marshalled by United captain Maya le Tissier, began to get more involved.

Shaw needed just one chance and took it perfectly when Dominique Janssen allowed her to spin on the edge of the box and she struck the ball powerfully past goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce.

But United responded well, coming close to an equaliser when Julia Zigiotti blasted over the bar from close range and when Jess Park's strike bounced off the woodwork.

They earned the draw in a chaotic final few minutes in which fireworks were going off outside Leigh Sports Village Stadium, causing a distraction and providing a backdrop for the wild celebrations.

Jeglertz has successfully rotated his squad this season and did not hesitate to do it again even in the derby, leaving experienced vice-captain Kerstin Casparij on the bench for the first hour.

However, that experience was missing in the first half as City looked disjointed and frustrated, unable to make their dominance count.

The players trudged down the tunnel at half-time with Shaw visibly annoyed having failed to have a shot of any kind, or even a touch inside United's box.

The Jamaica striker was involved in several tussles with United captain Le Tissier, but it appeared the physicality of the match favoured the hosts.

As the game wore on, even after Shaw had broken the deadlock, City looked more unsettled despite Jeglertz turning to his bench to try to change it.

United put pressure on City and grew in confidence, eventually creating the opportunity to test their defence with a free-kick late on - and it was Shaw who was caught out in the box with a loose header.

City do not have time to dwell on their performance with matches coming up thick and fast in November, but they at least came away with a point despite a patchy display.
