Cubarsi 8.0, Yamal 5.5 | FC Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid: Player ratings

FC Barcelona lose their [second consecutive game](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/joan-garcia-9-5-gordon-5-5-psg-4-2-fc-barcelona-player-ratings/) of the season, and the Catalan giants are starting to look shaky. Despite their promising start to the campaign, it seems that Hansi Flick’s team is beginning to crumble.

A [1-2 defeat at home](https://x.com/FCBarcelona/status/2114477613528097200?s=20) against Real Madrid, only Raphinha was able to find the back of the net. For a team that was scoring goals for fun this season so far, this is far too uncharacteristic of Flick’s team to not just struggle to score but also play as poorly as they did.

Here are the player ratings for the Barça players.

**Starting XI**

**Joan Garcia: 8.0/10**

Sensational reading throughout the game and kept Real Madrid at bay through everything that was in his power. Extremely unfortunate to concede due to a defensive error from other players.

**Xavi Espart: N/A**

Despite a promising start to the game, he unfortunately had to come off due to an injury.

**Pau Cubarsi: 8.0/10**

An absolute warrior at the back for Barcelona, he saved the team on several occasions. From his passing to his brilliant defensive actions, Pau Cubarsi was simply sensational.

**Gerard Martin: 6.5/10**

Made a horrendous blunder that gave Real Madrid their goal. Apart from that, he looked solid for much of the game but some of his clearances were just atrocious.

**Joao Cancelo: 6.0/10**

Did nothing too horrendous or noteworthy, but was not particularly effective in attack or defense. Very ineffective in this particular game, and he had issues in certain one-on-one encounters as well.

**Rodri: 7.0/10**

Made a lot of defensive interventions and thwarted Madrid’s progression wherever possible, but it was simply not enough. The Spaniard was solid, but his teammates needed to help him out.

**Pedri: 7.5/10**

Provided the assist for Barça’s only goal of the game, and despite some questionable moments, he looked eager to make things happen. However, he needs to be sharper in front of the opposition goal.

**Lamine Yamal: 5.5/10**

Underwhelming for the second game in a row, this is simply not acceptable for his standards. Needs to do much better.

**Fermin Lopez: 5.0/10**

Did essentially nothing except for a few good tackles. As for his attacking output, there genuinely seemed to be nothing there at all.

**Anthony Gordon: 6.5/10**

Had a few promising moments, came into good spaces and tried to link up with his teammates well. However, generated almost no real threat towards the opposition goal.

**Raphinha: 7.5/10**

Despite a frustrating game in terms of his finishing, the Brazilian finally got his moment in the second half with a goal for Barcelona. However, he needs to be much better in terms of his decision-making.

**Substitutes**

**Alejandro Balde: 6.0/10**

Looked decent enough defensively but offered almost nothing going forward.

**Frenkie de Jong: 6.5/10**

Composed in possession and added some energy to the midfield, but arguably came on far too late.

**Gabriel Jesus: N/A**

**Karim Adeyemi: N/A**
