'I'll be absolutely over the moon': Arsenal star desperate for England recall for impressing…

Arsenal defender Ben White is determined to earn another England call-up after helping Mikel Arteta’s side beat Everton 2-0, with the Three Lions head coach Thomas Tuchel watching from the stands at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners right-back set up Gabriel Magalhaes’ 68th-minute goal that sealed the win for Arsenal.

White is now hoping that performance is enough to earn him a spot in the England squad ahead of next month’s Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.

The 29-year-old admitted that representing his country is a special experience and said he would be delighted to receive another opportunity.

“Yeah, definitely,” he said (via The Sun) when asked if he hopes to be part of the Nations League squad.

“It is an amazing feeling playing for England. It’s like nothing else. If that does happen, I’ll be absolutely over the moon.”

White’s international career has stalled over the past few years.

He initially left England’s squad during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar for personal reasons and didn’t return for nearly four years.

The former Brighton & Hove Albion star returned in March after holding talks with Tuchel, who took charge of England at the start of 2025.

However, White’s comeback was far from smooth, as he scored before giving away a penalty in a 1-1 friendly draw against Uruguay. Some supporters also booed him at Wembley Stadium.

Injuries then dealt another blow to his hopes of rebuilding his international career.

He picked up a knee injury during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over West Ham United in May, ruling him out of the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain and this summer’s World Cup.

White admitted that the setback was difficult to accept, revealing that he cried after realising the injury would keep him out for the rest of the season.

Determined to return stronger, he trained throughout the summer with little time off. His hard work is now paying off as he continues to impress for Arsenal.

White has provided three assists in seven Premier League games for Arsenal so far. He also marked his 200th appearance for Arsenal with a 7/10 performance in the win over Everton.
